LEAGUE RULES

LINCOLNSHIRE MEN'S LEAGUE AND OVER 60'S LEAGUE

The competition is open to teams of male bowlers from all indoor clubs who have a minimum of five rinks and are affiliated to the County Association.

Men are eligible to play in the over 60's league after their 60th birthday regardless of the time of year.

Dress for Men's league:- Whites with club tie or registered coloured shirt.

Dress for over 60's league:- Grey trousers with white shirt and tie or registered coloured shirt.

Starting time for over 60's league - No later than 10:30 am. unless mutually agreed otherwise.

A club may enter two teams in any of the leagues.

Where two teams have entered, a member of the "B" team may play for the "A" team on three occasions without penalty. On the fourth occasion he becomes an "A" team player.

An "A" team member CAN NOT PLAY FOR THE "B" TEAM under any circumstances

Clubs with two teams  must register their intended "A" team players before the start of the season.

A penalty for playing an "A" team player in the "B" team will cause the loss of 4 points and 10 shots for each offending player in that particular game.

 

LINCOLNSHIRE MIXED LEAGUE

The competition is open to both male and female bowlers from all indoor clubs who have a minimum of five rinks and are affiliated to the County Association.

Dress:- Whites with club tie or registered coloured shirt.  Club waistcoats to be worn by the ladies.

 

RULES FOR ALL THE LEAGUES

All matches to be played under the EIBA Laws of the sport.

All teams shall consist of 5 rinks of four players (2 men & 2 ladies in the mixed league) and will play one match at home and one match away during the season.

Matches to consist of 21 ends if completed within the time limit of two hours fifty minutes.   A bell or buzzer will signal the end of the match.  Ends in play will be completed so long as the jack has been cast in the correct manner i.e. the mat in the correct position and the lead only has cast the jack.  If an end is declared "dead" after the time limit it will not be replayed.

No trial ends.  Home team jack.

A total of 18 points is awarded to each match, allocated as follows:-

2 points for each winning rink (1 point for a drawn rink).  8 points for shot aggregate.

If a club wishes to cancel a match and rink space cannot be provided to play the match at a later date, then the club that cancels the match will be DEDUCTED 12 points from their total and the opposing club AWARDED 12 points.

One team to be promoted and one team relegated in all divisions each season.

A player can only play for one club in any competitive season

Home clubs to provide all facilities for visiting teams.
